Time for me.

It's so important to find time to stop, to pause and breathe, to be still and notice.

The stillness in the air as the evening was drawing in and the golden sunset stopped me in my tracks this evening as I was at the yard doing the chores.

I completed the jobs without hurrying, enjoying the time to be in our little piece of heaven with our 5 beautiful equine partners.

I took my time to BE with them all, one by one, hugging Darcy as he loves hugs and rubs, breathing with Reggie, hunkering down with Tigger, sitting with Gizmo and helping him get little nibbles of hay from the haynet, then finally just pausing with Star looking at the awesome sunset and how it framed her fur in a sprinkling of light whilst breathing in the smell of her.

I was reminded of my childhood when I would have given absolutely anything to see a horse, be near a horse, touch a horse. These were all things I longed for. Riding wasn't an option, and it wasn't important, being near horses was. To be close to a horse was everything my heart and soul longed for.

I was reminded of just how beautiful it is to be with them and how absolutely grateful I am to be able to live alongside and be with our beautiful herd. Inwas reminded of how just being in their presence can mean the whole world to our clients and how easily this can be forgotten.

I'm also reminded of how much I need these moments, these 'me' times with our herd in nature, to pause, breathe and be.

I am so passionate about healing through the power and presence of nature and reclaiming our authenticity, yet at times rarely have time to pause, let alone breathe!

How can I promote the power of this when I can't access it myself?

Its so easy to be consumed by the go, go, go of life, the running of a CIC, the therapy practice, horsecare, admin, admin, admin! It becomes too easy to forget myself and how much I also need what I share with my clients.

To be able to provide our wonderful service, we first need to nourish ourselves and our herd.

The horses benefit when we pause too, they get to really feel us in the quality of our presence. I notice how they pause alongside me and stop to meet me almost as if they are breathing out a sigh of relief saying 'ah, there you are'

Its beautiful, it's powerful, to me, it's EVERYTHING, and it's something we ALL need to reconnect with, via animals or the natural world in the way that you connect with it most.

Its all around us, if we could just stop to notice.
